The Catechism of the Catholic Church says:
"Adam and Eve transmitted to their descendants human nature wounded by their own first sin and hence deprived of original holiness and justice; this deprivation is called "original sin"."
Is original sin the result of moral errors that each of us committed before our lives began, or the result of a sin committed by a distant ancestor?
How can someone be born with sin?

Did you know that dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish?

We are born without our personal sin. We are born bearing the effects of the sin of Adam and Eve, since the sin was committed by the entire human race at the time, by Adam and Eve.

I cannot be responsible for mistakes that some other people made. It means that we bear the effects of the sin of all of our ancestors. That doesn't make sense to me.

Everyone should be responsible only for his or her own personal sins. Why should I be punished for something I didn't do or couldn't avoid?

The concept of original sin is a rather primitive explanation for what we see as  the "human condition".  There is suffering in the world and original sin is posited as the reason.  On the other hand, the Buddha says that suffering is the result of our own ignorance.
