Christians honor and respect Mary and all the Saints, but it is not the same as worshiping them.

Sirach 44:1-2
"So let us now give praise to godly men,
our ancestors of generations past,
those whom the Lord honored with great glory,
in whom his greatness has been seen
from the beginning of time."

The question is why do Christians pray to Mary. It is OK to respect and honor someone, I recpect many people, but why should I pray to them?

Did you know that dolphins are so smart that within a few weeks of captivity, they can train people to stand on the very edge of the pool and throw them fish?

We do not pray directly to Mary, we pray "through" Mary to God, because she is an intercessor who prays to God on behalf of all of us. Mary was favoured by God when she was chosen by God to become the mother of Jesus:

Luke 1:30-33
"But the angel said to her, "Do not be afraid, Mary, you have found favor with God.
You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus.
He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. The Lord God will give him the throne of his father David,
and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever; his kingdom will never end."
