What do you think about the oscillating universe theory? According to the theory, the universe will begin to contract once expansion ends. Contraction would end in the Big Crunch, in which the universe implodes into a singularity. Another Big Bang would follow the Big Crunch. Big Bangs follow Big Crunches in a never-ending cycle is known as an oscillating universe.
Is it necessary in this scenario, that the same situations would eventually repeat endlessly, even our exactly the same lives as they are now?

Interesting theory, everything around us seems cyclic in some way, maybe the whole universe is also oscilating...

Why would it be necessary that the same exactly same situations repeat endlessly? Maybe every time the universe starts from the new Big Bang in a slightly different way?

The situations where universe starts from the new Big Bang in a slightly different way are limited, so eventually, the same situations would have to start repeating. There is a limited set of elements in the universe, in an endless oscillation, it has to start repeating at some time.

The possible problem with the oscillating universe theory is that there doesn't seem to be enough total matter in the universe to create the gravitational forces necessary to pull it all back into collapse. Recent observations show the universe's expansion is accelerating rather than slowing down.

If we imagine the universe to be shaped in the way that wherever we go, we end up in the same place where we started, then maybe we are accelerating because we are every day closer to the Big Crunch.

The Hindu scriptures state that the universe is successively born every 4.32 billion years, just like in the oscillating universe theory...
