What does Bible say about homosexuality?

LEVITICUS 18:22: "You shall not lie with a male as with a woman. It is an abomination."
LEVITICUS 20:13: "If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death.. Their blood shall be upon them."
1 CORINTHIANS 6:9-10: "Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God."

With texts like these in the Bible, it is very hard for a Christian to accept a homosexual person. Many good religious people unfortunately build their opinion against homosexuality almost entirely on the Bible.

What are logical reasons for homosexuality to be a sin? And it if even by Bible is a sin, why is it said that "If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death.. Their blood shall be upon them."? Shouldn't God be to one to judge, why is death sentence suggested in Bible?

God should be the one to judge by some Bible quotes, but this is also one on many contradictions, because there are many reasons for death sentence in Bible:

Exodus 21:15-17:
"And he that smiteth his father, or his mother, shall be surely put to death."
"And he that stealeth a man, and selleth him, or if he be found in his hand, he shall surely be put to death."
"And he that curseth his father, or his mother, shall surely be put to death."

Lev 24:14-16
"Bring forth him that hath cursed without the camp; and let all that heard him lay their hands upon his head, and let all the congregation stone him.
And thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel, saying, Whosoever curseth his God shall bear his sin.
And he that blasphemeth the name of the LORD, he shall surely be put to death, and all the congregation shall certainly stone him: as well the stranger, as he that is born in the land, when he blasphemeth the name of the Lord, shall be put to death."

Deut 22:20-21
"But if this thing be true, and the tokens of virginity be not found for the damsel:
Then they shall bring out the damsel to the door of her father's house, and the men of her city shall stone her with stones that she die: because she hath wrought folly in Israel, to play the whore in her father's house: so shalt thou put evil away from among you."

When we talk about homosexuality and Bible we must know that Jesus says nothing about it. It can be dangerous to think that our understanding of every biblical text is without error. We can misunderstand and misinterpret some texts and we shouldn't deny homosexuals their basic rights based on our maybe wrong interpretation of the words.

LEVITICUS 20:13: "If a man lies with a male as he lies with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination. They shall surely be put to death.. Their blood shall be upon them."

One more contradiction in Bible, because there is also: "Mat 7:1 Judge not lest ye be judged." which I like better.

I like "thou shalt not kill" better than "They shall surely be put to death.. Their blood shall be upon them.".
But Bible offers something for everyone.

For me the bible is not God's word. The old testament is a history of our relationship with God. For me it covers all of the different scenarios of man's relationship with God - all of the mistakes, contradictions etc. - from which we can still learn today. The new testament tries to explain how we could improve our relationship with God based on love - ' love God and thy neighbour as yourself' as taught by a man called Jesus. Easy to say; but, for me, oh so difficult to do.
